The flea’s life cycle begins with the egg stage. The adult must feed to begin reproduction. After taking a blood meal the flea will begin laying eggs within 24-48 hours. The eggs hatch in 1-6 days forming larvae. Under most household conditions, the flea will take 3-5 weeks to develop. Egg production can be massive; one flea can lay 40-50 eggs per day. It is very easy to have a flea infestation quickly.
