Veterinarian
Dr. JoAnne Wagner-Castillo is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Wagner-Castillo graduated from LSU School of Nursing in 1977 and graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983.
She practiced in small animal medicine and surgery/emergency in Louisiana for 3 years before moving to Tampa, Florida. In Tampa she has practiced in private practice/emergency practices for 7 year, spent 12 years working at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay as shelter veterinarian/manager then worked for Spay/Neuter Clinics in Tampa, Brooksville, Lake Panasoffkee, and Zephyrhills.
She is married to a criminal attorney, currently resides in Tampa, and has one college-age daughter (Allison) who is a paramedic and currently completing her studies in nursing.
Currently, she has 3 rescued shelter dogs; 12 year old Mastiff mix–Sydney, 9 year old Corgi mix–Booda, and a 2 year old Chihuahua/Yorkie mix–Napoleon.
Her hobbies include reading, running, sewing, working out at the gym, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. Most favorite pastime is hanging out with my dogs, taking them on long walks and playing with them at dog parks and dog beaches. They are my inspiration!!
